Downing Insurance Agency has been at our current location--125 Market Street--since 1973. The agency has been in existence under other names since 1933. Gene Downing began working for the Chenualt Insurance Agency in the 1960's and worked in the agency up until his retirement in the late 1990's. His son Jim joined the agency in 1973 and is now the owner/manager of the agency.
The Downing Agency partnered with the Crawford Agency from Bellevue, KY in 2002. This change was made to provide our clients a broader spectrum of companies and products---including a fully staffed health insurance department--from which to choose. The Downing Agency is proud to continue the client first, family atmosphere that is at the core of who we are and how we do business.
